Celebrity Love Island

Paul Danan is still winning the prize for most colourful character on the island. Abi Titmuss is now getting friendly with Lee Sharpe, and last time we saw the Aftersun Special on ITV2, Rachel Loos appeared to be eyeing up Isabella on the sun lounger. There's more on our Celebrity Love Island page.

Champions League Result - Liverpool win the European Cup

Congratulations to Liverpool Football Club on winning the Champions League. This will go down as one of the greatest European cup finals of all time, with Liverpool coming back from being 3-0 down at half-time. Steven Gerrard inspired the team with a goal early in the second half, a goal from Vladimir Smicer followed shortly afterwards, and Liverpool equalised with a penalty scored by Xabi Alonso on the rebound from the Milan goalkeeper. Neither team could break through in extra time, and the game was won 4-2 on penalties with some excellent saves by Dudek (we particularly liked his distraction techniques).

Well done Liverpool and well done Steven Gerrard on your Champions League win. This is Liverpool's fifth European Cup, they last won it 21 years ago.

New Gorillaz Album

We're big fans of the band Gorillaz (whose band members include Damon Albarn) - we love both their music and artwork. The great news is that they have a new album, Demon Days, launching on Monday 23rd May. The album's track Feel Good Inc. has already received UK airplay.

Coldplay Speed of Sound

We're loving the new Coldplay single, Speed of Sound, which is released on 23rd May. If you're a Coldplay fan, take a look at our Coldplay page for a wide selection of band-related products.

New Star Wars Film a Cracker

Early reports are that the new Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of The Sith, is a cracker, and makes up for the slightly disappointing Episodes 1 and 2. Be warned though, the new film is dark, and may be a bit scary for kids. If you're a Star Wars fanatic, you can also buy the Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of The Sith Computer Game.

Celebrity Love Island Update

Well, we've just watched the first episode of Celebrity Love Island, and are now wishing that we were famous. How great must it be to spend time on a beautiful island, with good-looking and available members of the opposite sex ... and get paid for it. Genius! Anyway, early signs are that this will be a good series. We particularly liked Micheal Greco's monkey impression - keep up the effort Beppe and we're sure you'll score with one of the island's lovelies. Elsewhere Fran Cosgrave upset Abi Titmuss, by saying that she was promiscuous. Naturally Abi didn't take this comment too well. Luckily, Fran had an excellent defence - he didn't know what the word meant. Least content so far was Jayne Middlemiss, who was finding the strain of living in the lap of luxury on a Fijian island all a little too much and was missing her Mum. Ahh, bless.

Celebrity Love Island Starts Mon 16th May 9pm

A new series from ITV, Celebrity Love Island, puts the likes of Rachel Loos, Lady Isabella Hervey, Abi Titmuss, Fran Cosgrave (nightclub owner of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Fame) and Calum Best (model and son of George Best) together on an exotic Fijian Island for romantic fun. It's presented by comedian Patrick Kielty and the stunning Kelly Brooke. We think they're onto a winner. It starts tonight, Mon 16th May, at 9pm on ITV1.

New Christina Aguilera Page Added

We've added a new Christina Aguilera page. There's no doubt that this girl has a belter of a voice. In singing terms she definitely has the edge on her rival Britney Spears. As you probably know, both were members of the Mickey Mouse Club which is where the rivalry started.

Updated Xbox 360 Review with Pictures

May 12th saw Microsoft's US launch of their new Xbox 360 Console. In a break from tradition, an MTV TV Special was held, rather than launching it at a Games Expo. What is for sure is that the Xbox 360 is a serious bit of gaming hardware. If you want to see its unusual concave design, we've updated our Xbox 360 Review with pictures.

Bleak outlook for Man United fans opposed to Glazer

Things aren't looking good for Manchester United fans opposed to takeover by Malcom Glazer. He now owns 74.81% of the club, and only needs 75% to take it private. Once he has reached 75%, he can rewrite the company's articles, allowing him to run the company how he wants. Full article at BBC News.

New Buffy Page

We've been very busy creating new catalogue pages on our shopping portal lately. Here's one for the Buffy and Sarah Michelle Gellar fans. We almost said Sarah Jessica Parker, but that's Sex and the City - mustn't get our Vampires and Strappy Sandals mixed up.

Alchemy UK Play Pop in Soho on Mon 16th May

Relatives of ours, Alchemy UK play Pop in Soho on Monday 16th May at around 9pm. Alchemy is an upcoming four piece with an upbeat funky sound, and are heavily influenced by the Dave Matthews Band (very big in the US). You can find free music downloads of some of their songs on their website.

Pop is right next to Soho Square and Tottenham Court Road is your tube stop. The venue plays cool music and turns into a club afterwards and there's also a jam where all the bands go mad!! £4 before 9pm / £5 otherwise, some of the drinks are cheap (£2 a beer), so if you're in the area, check them out.

A cute little Freeview box for your consideration

If you're after a Freeview box (for receiving free digital TV) that doesn't take up much room, then our Hauppauge DEC 1100-T review might help.

Radio One Big Weekend Sunday Line Up

Apparently it's now hailing in Sunderland, so it's lucky that they have a big tent. Bands playing on the main stage on Sunday are:

The Black Eyed Peas - Upbeat funky hip-hoppers from LA.

Gwen Stefani - Reached fame with the band No Doubt. Blond babe that has a penchant for hitting the dressing up box and being followed by a troupe of Japanese ladies. Check her high design official website.

Basement Jaxx - Dance music masters, "Where's Your Head At" etc.

Jamiroquai - Funk rock. Making a bit of a comeback recently. Lead singer J Kay has a penchant for hats and driving too fast in his Ferrari.

The Kaiser Chiefs - Punk band from leads. Their Employment album has now gone platinum.

Lemar - Husky-voiced singer of Pop Idol fame.

The Bravery - Synth-heavy punk band from New York.

Let's hope the weather improves. Backstage photos at the One Big Sunday Site.

Radio One Big Weekend in Sunderland - Saturday Line Up

We're not lucky enough to be going to Radio One's One Big Weekend in Sunderland, so we're listening to it on digital radio through our Freeview Box instead. We must say Saturday has an absolutely cracking line up: the Foo Fighters, Chemical Brothers, Kasabian, Natalie Imbruglia, Athlete, Rooster and KT Tunstall.

The One Big Weekend site has pictures.

Oh, and if you're wondering why we didn't link to Athlete and Rooster, it's because our database technology isn't that sophisticated yet, so we get rogue products in the results (cue foot care products for Athlete, hey ho).
